Additional Training and Compliance Requirements

Federal research agencies require research security training that includes foreign travel security information for all federally sponsored principal investigators, co-investigators and other senior/key personnel (“covered individuals”). Please refer here for information on Georgetown’s research security training

Additional foreign travel security training may be required for federally funded researchers based on specific research sponsor or specific research project requirements. Certain research sponsors may additionally require an organizational record of international travel by covered individuals. This organizational record must include all international travel by covered individuals for business, teaching, conference attendance or research purposes, regardless of the funding source for the specific trip. If these additional requirements apply to you, JORA and/or ORO will notify you of these obligations. If you become aware of these additional requirements applying to you through communication with specific federal research sponsor program officials or other sponsor contacts, please notify JORA and ORO immediately.
